Singer songwriter and artist Chloe Hummingbird wrote this song years ago in a reflective time. Years later, she brought the song to me for a mock studio session to shoot a promo video for my music production services (another story all together).
After the shoot, I had a vocal, some chords, some bits of harp a basic beat and not much else. But the song stayed with me and over the next year or so, I tinkered on the production and created the synth pop banger vibe that I felt would suit the song.
After a while on the shelf, I played it at a party and the reaction convinced us that we should release it. Probably a one off musical moment but who cares? Not all songs need to have a band or long-term project associated with them. A reminder that songs can be made out of fun and friendship.
